Santa's Spiked Hot Chocolate

Even as Los Angeles picks up a little bit of pre-Christmas warm weather, I still can't help being drawn to a delicious cup of peppermint hot cocoa on these dark winter nights. Though we only see a brief glimpse of Mrs. Claus while she prepares a packed lunch and thermos for Santa as he reviews the naughty and nice list in The Nightmare Before Christmas, her jolly and caring nature makes me think that thermos is likely filled with hot chocolate for Santa's long ride ahead. An Anglophile through and through, I'm a sucker for Cadbury's instant hot chocolate mix, and when paired with freshly whipped cream, crushed candy cane morsels, and a splash of Peppermint Schnapps, I can't think of a more delicious and comforting way to welcome the week of Christmas!
