It’s understandable why Fig & Olive has remained a favorite amongst the Melrose Place ladies and gents who lunch since it opened in 2011. Chain Founder Laurent Halasz’s dedication to Mediterranean cuisine with a special emphasis on olive oil in most – if not all – dishes lends itself to seasonal classics made with fresh ingredients. At lunchtime, the dining room is sunlit and gleamingly white, highlighting the olive trees that serve as the centerpiece of the room, and warming the scent of the rosemary plants that pepper the restaurant. I’m a fan sharing and pairing an array of crostini with seasonal appetizers and seafood dishes, while sipping a bubbly glass of Cava and enjoying the banter of my dining companions.
