Kettle Glazed Doughnuts

Everyone loves indulging in a delicious donut now and again, and I happen to have a phenomenal shop just up the street from my Hollywood house! Owner and native Angelino Sami Anz’s Kettle Glazed Doughnuts is an adorable little nook with sunshine-yellow signage tucked in the corner of a tiny strip mall on Franklin Ave. With its name referencing an heirloom French cast-iron kettle gifted to Anz by a friend, the shop is a nostalgic celebration of the art of handmade, hand-fried doughnuts. Private chef Marjorie Ohrnstein aids in the shop’s menu development, which includes everything from tried and true classic Old Fashioneds, to raised and filled doughnuts the likes of the Lemon Square and the Fluffer Nutter, to delectably crispy “Croissant Style”-cronuts, to a variety of gluten-free options, all of which are ridiculously tempting and incredible! It’s all too easy to load up a charmingly packaged box piled high with these goodies, but I’m just as happy snagging one of the shop’s few tables, chatting with the shop's wonderful and friendly employees, and shamelessly making my way through doughnut after doughnut!
