Black Flame Candle and Binx Brown Sugar Cookies

I’m beyond excited to kick off my Halloween posts for the year - and knowing that Hocus Pocus (which holds such a special place in my childhood and remains truly one of my favorite movies of all time) celebrated it’s twentieth anniversary this past summer, it seems only appropriate to dedicate my October baking to all things Sanderson.

The plot of the film is set in motion when Max Dennison lights the black flame candle on All Hallows Eve, summoning the Sanderson sisters “from under the ground” (much to the chagrin of boy-turned-black-cat Thackery Binx). These brown sugar cookie cutouts seem perfectly fitting to celebrate the start of this wonderful season!
