Welcome to my scrumptious, stylish, spooky, happy place!

Umeda

Umeda

I love when beautiful restaurants spring up walking distance from my house, so I was elated when I heard that Chef Takuya Umeda's namesake Umeda was going in right across the street from Chi Spacca on Melrose Ave. Having formerly worked for Chef Nobu Matsuhisa at Matsuhisa, Umeda's Japanese menu features a lovely balance of sushi and small plate dishes -- I'd readily return for more Black Cod Miso Lettuce Cups, and their take on Crispy Rice Spicy Tuna is playful and delicious. The restaurant's intimate space makes for a nice local Japanese dining option, and frankly, I'll never turn down a chance to enjoy tempura avocado.
