Vampire Teddy Bear Gingerbread Cookies

There are few sweets I love more than freshly baked gingerbread cookies. I've previously featured Marcus Samuelsson's Aquavit gingerbread cookies with candied orange on this blog, and while that's one of my tried and true seasonal recipes, I also religiously utilize this recipe from Bon Appétit for my yearly Christmas cookie baking (though I make use of the tree cut-out and juniper berry glaze in a different recipe, which I'll be featuring soon as well!). In keeping with my Nightmare Before Christmas theme, I decorated these cookies to look like the Vampire Teddy Bear created by the well-meaning ghouls of Halloween Town. The buttery crispness and wonderfully flavorful nature of these cookies make them reigning favorites in my house!
